General Purpose of the Position:

We need a person who can multi-task and handle several machine projects simultaneously. Duties and Responsibilities: Individual and team refurbishment of laboratory equipment; scope of responsibilities will be the complete process of refurbishment; inspection and testing, disassembly, parts ordering, cleaning, preparing panels for refinishing, reassembly, calibration using specialized tools, and final testing of assigned instruments; other duties as required. In-house training will be provided for instrumentation being refurbished and no experience with histology equipment is required.

Education: High school diploma is required. Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or military medical repair specialists’ school is optional but desired.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude
  • Follow and understand wiring and electronic schematics
  • Ability to work with a variety of software programs
  • Work independently with some supervision
  • Comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills both verbal and written
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proficient in reading, writing and computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Maintain accurate and timely work documentation
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support business and quality goals

Starting Salary range: $17 - $19 per hour; depending on experience
